The SIS
IB Film Studies
course is at least partly designed by you, as we hope that the adoption of an independent approach to the course will provide classes with chances to opt for texts and indeed whole genres of study, whilst maintaining an overall set of parameters within which to work. Wherever possible we provide you with options. The 2008/09 course outline looked something like this for Y12:
TERM 1
: Film Language, Genre & Editing
TERM 2
(Before CNY): Reality, New Waves & Scriptwriting
TERM 2 (After CNY)
Film Narrative, Post Modernism & Authorship
TERM 3:
The Film Medium: Image and Sound
TERM 4
Cinematography, Hong Kong Cinema & The Independent Study
TERM 5
The Presentation & The Production
