If you go to the school library you will see that the Film & Media department has invested heavily in this innovative trans-media (Henry Jenkins) franchise. The school library has the following discs:

Disc 3- The Matrix Reloaded (d. Wachowski Bros, 2003)

Disc 5- The Matrix Revolutions (d. Wachowski Bros, 2003)
Disc 6- The Matrix Revolutions Revisited
Disc 7- The Animatrix
Disc 8- The Roots of the Matrix: Philosophy & The Matrix + The Science Behind the Fiction
Disc 9- The Burly Man Chronicles
Disc 10- The Zion Archive

If you load Disc 2, there are many relevant behind the scenes glimpses taken from The Matrix. However, given that we are studying editing, the following chapters in particular are of relevance to us:

Part of the intertextuality used in The Matrix can be seen by analysing the style of the film. Compare the John Woo film, A Better Tomorrow (below...Hotel Lobby shootout) with the Government Lobby scene in The Matrix. What similarities do you notice?
