Ideologies are fundamental beliefs and we can be exposed to them through the media, in this case - animation.
Because mainstream animations tend to be more popular, the ideologies that are encoded in them are of significance because more people are exposed to these ideas. And because people tend to want media which reinforces their beliefs rather tha challenges them, we tend to get DOMINANT ideologies (and representations) in these mainstream texts.
For example, in Wall-E, humans have turned the planet into a wasteland and are forced to live in space. This portrays the idea that humans should be more mindful about the environment and the damage they do it because of the future consequences. Also, Wall-E is looking for love throughout the movie, he is unhappy when he is alone and this means that we are expected to believe that people need to have companions, be with other people and live in a traditional unit of family (male, female, children). This is typical of Disney because their ideological bias tends to be conservative. You could consider the idea of MYTHIC TRUTH here - ie, the presentation of certain beliefs or representations or ways of life as though those are the 'proper' beliefs, ways of life etc...
Gramsci's idea was that institutions and ideologies tend to teach us hegemony - 'the way things are'. Institutions in order for us to be normal parts of society, to fit in and to behave.
Recently, mainstream animations have become less conservative, for example - in Wall-E, Eve is the heroine for most of the film, she has more knowledge and is more powerful. This overturns Disney's prior ideology of women always being the 'damsel in distress' and a knight/prince being the savior (e.g. Snow White).
Mainstream animations teach us how to behave, how to be normal and how to fit in to society (hegemony).
I'd give this an 'A' grade andtreat it as a very good example of a decent essay written by an extremely bright student who has looked over her notes (well done) and has some knowledge, but needs to do a little more thinking in order to develop (or show, more likely) actual understanding. Really, you need some more precise examples, preferably from a range of institutions, genres and time periods.
